BREAKING: Federal Government Declares Public Holidays for Christmas and New Year!
The Federal Government has officially announced the public holidays for the upcoming festive season. According to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Wednesday, December 25th, Thursday, December 26th, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, have been declared public holidays to celebrate Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year respectively.
This announcement was made in a statement released on Monday in Abuja, with the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government.
A Time for Reflection and Celebration
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm greetings to all Nigerians, urging them to reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity that the season signifies as they celebrate with their loved ones. He emphasized that the essence of the yuletide season is to foster harmony and strengthen bonds across families and communities.
“The Christmas season is a good moment for spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences,” said Tunji-Ojo.
