‘Nigeria has best Jollof rice’ – American streamer, IShowSpeed

Famous American streamer Darren Jason Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, has declared Nigerian jollof rice the best in the world.

The internet personality made the statement during a livestream in Lagos on Wednesday, where he weighed in on the long-standing debate over which African country makes the best jollof rice.

IShowSpeed, who recently arrived in Nigeria from Senegal, had earlier streamed Senegal’s AFCON trophy paradebefore continuing his African tour to Lagos.

During the live session, the streamer openly compared Nigerian jollof with Senegalese jollof, stating that Nigeria’s version stood out in taste.

“Nigerian jollof rice is good. It tastes better than Senegal jollof rice. I think I would have to go with Nigeria in terms of which country has the best jollof rice,” he said.

The comment has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians proudly celebrating the endorsement of their beloved dish, while reigniting the friendly jollof rivalry across Africa.
