BREAKING: Gov. Sanwo-Olu Empowers Nigeria’s Police force with 260 vehicles
In a move that has left many Nigerians speechless, the Lagos State Government has donated a whopping 260 vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force. This generous gesture was made during the 18th Edition of the Lagos State Security Summit, which held in Ikeja.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who presented the vehicles to security chiefs, commended the police for their tireless efforts in keeping Lagos safe. A Promise Kept!
At the last security summit, the Lagos State Government had promised to donate 200 vehicles to the police. However, in a surprising twist, the government exceeded its promise by donating 260 vehicles, along with other equipment.
Technology-Driven Security
The governor also highlighted the need to leverage innovative technologies to combat crime in the state. He revealed that the government had acquired drones to enhance surveillance and protect lives and property. Additionally, bulletproof vests were provided to protect police officers.
Sanwo-Olu urged his counterparts in other states to emulate the Lagos State Government’s efforts in supporting the police. He emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to ensuring the safety and security of Nigerians.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, expressed gratitude to the governor for his unwavering support. He praised Sanwo-Olu’s exemplary leadership and commitment to security.

Mr. Kehinde Durosinmi-Etti, Chairman of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, emphasized the importance of harnessing data and technology to address security challenges.
