Tinubu posts Kayode Are as Ambassador-designate to US, Ayodele Oke to France 🇫🇷

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of Ambassador Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to France, marking a new phase in diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the European nation.

The approval was announced on Thursday, January 22, in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

With the posting, Nigerians living in France are set to welcome Ambassador Ayodele Oke as the country’s next official representative, pending the completion of diplomatic procedures.

In addition to the France appointment, President Tinubu also approved the posting of Colonel Lateef Are as ambassador-designate to the United States of America.

The President further named Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former Nigerian envoy to South Korea, as high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

Also included in the latest postings is Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, who was approved as ambassador-designate to Turkey, ahead of Tinubu’s scheduled state visit to the country.

According to the statement, the four diplomats were selected from the list of 68 ambassadorial nominees earlier confirmed by the Senate in December.

President Tinubu has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to formally notify the governments of the respective countries in line with established diplomatic procedures.
