🇳🇬 Governor Ademola Adeleke Hosts TikTok Creator Peller Amid Growing Influence of Digital Creators

Osun, Nigeria (9jafinds News Desk)

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Saturday received Nigerian TikTok creator Peller at the Government House, as part of the content creator’s ongoing nationwide tour.

The visit highlights the increasing intersection between digital influence and public institutions in Nigeria, as creators expand their reach beyond online platforms into civic and cultural spaces.

📍 Visit Follows Nationwide Tour

Peller’s stop in Osun comes after visits to several Nigerian states, including Oyo, Ekiti, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. His tour, which began earlier in March, is aimed at engaging audiences across the country through content creation and public appearances.

Prior to meeting the governor, the creator had visited Obafemi Awolowo University, one of Nigeria’s leading academic institutions.

At the Government House, Peller was received by Governor Adeleke, where both engaged in brief discussions and a photo session. The visit concluded with a lighthearted cultural moment, as both participated in a dance session to music by Nigerian artist Davido.

🌍 Digital Creators Gain Institutional Recognition

The meeting reflects a broader shift in how influence is perceived in Nigeria, with digital creators increasingly recognized as key players in shaping public engagement and youth culture.

Across Africa, the creator economy has seen rapid growth, driven by platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Content creators are now leveraging their platforms to build personal brands, influence public discourse, and access opportunities previously limited to traditional media figures.

Peller’s visit to Osun underscores this transition, as social media personalities begin to intersect with governance, education, and cultural institutions.

Context and Recent Developments

While the tour has drawn widespread attention, it has not been without controversy. During a recent stop in Benin City, Peller faced criticism from the traditional council linked to the Oba of Benin, which raised concerns over protocol. The creator, however, maintained that his visit had been duly authorised.

Despite this, his nationwide tour continues to attract engagement, particularly among younger audiences.

Industry observers note that the rise of creators like Peller reflects broader economic opportunities within Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

Content creation has evolved into a viable income stream through:
• Brand partnerships
• Advertising revenue
• Affiliate marketing
