A Nigerian executive has been found dead in her home in Canada, leaving her family, colleagues, and the Nigerian community in shock and mourning.

The deceased, Victoria Kemi Adedoyin, aged 33, was a highly accomplished professional who relocated to Canada in July 2022 after obtaining her permanent residency. She was working with a multinational firm in Canada at the time of her death.

According to reports, Adedoyin attended church service on Sunday, January 18, 2026. The following day, Monday, January 19, she reportedly went to work and later returned home.

She was expected to join an important online meeting with senior executives of her company later that day. However, when she failed to log in for the meeting and could not be reached through calls or messages, her colleagues became alarmed.

Concerned about her safety, her workplace alerted the authorities.

Police discovery raises questions

Police officers were said to have forced entry into her residence, where they discovered her lifeless body.

Initial reports suggested that the coroner suspected a brain aneurysm as a possible cause of death. However, that claim was later withdrawn due to insufficient evidence, leaving the circumstances surrounding her death unclear.

Reacting to the tragic news, the Facebook group Nigerians in Canada paid tribute to Adedoyin, describing her as a lifelong scholar and an exceptional professional.

According to the group, she joined Accenture Canada as a Senior Analyst, where she initially worked as a Client Account Manager on the Pinterest project. Within eight months, she earned a promotion to Senior Client Account Manager on the Direct (B2B) team.

In 2024, she transitioned to the Agency Team as a Senior Agency Account Manager, later rising to the role of Team Lead, a position she reportedly held with distinction until her death.

A life of excellence cut short

Adedoyin was remembered for her versatility, resilience, leadership, and dedication to personal growth. Friends and colleagues described her as ambitious, disciplined, and deeply committed to excellence.

Her untimely death has left loved ones devastated and the Nigerian diaspora in Canada grieving the loss of a promising and inspiring young professional.
