Tinubu orders security agencies to root out insecurity by 2025
In a bold move, President Bola Tinubu has ordered security agencies to root out insecurity in Nigeria by 2025. This directive was made public by the Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, while addressing All Progressive Congress (APC) supporters in Gusau on Saturday.
According to Matawalle, the government is committed to providing all necessary resources to ensure security operatives can tackle insecurity without delay. This includes purchasing security gadgets from abroad, some of which have already been deployed to Sokoto.
Key Strategies to Achieve Insecurity-Free Nigeria
To achieve this ambitious goal, the government is implementing several strategies:
- Community Involvement: Encouraging communities to expose informants and criminals, providing intelligence information to support security operatives.
- Arresting Notorious Bandits: Committing to arrest all notorious bandits and their collaborators, with a focus on gathering crucial intelligence information.
- Reviewing Security Challenges: Matawalle will visit communities to review security challenges and take further action .
Infrastructure Development for Enhanced Security
President Tinubu’s administration is also investing in infrastructure development to enhance security. The construction of the Zaria to Sokoto dual carriageway is expected to improve security, transport, and economic activities in the region .
